1 July 2019
Following the death of Richard Harrap shortly after the local council elections, East Riding Council have called a by-election for the councillor seat of Bridlington North.
Hull and East Riding Green Party have decided not to stand a candidate in this election.
In the recent local election in the East Riding, the Liberal Democrats stood down in the East Wolds and Coast ward, so as not to split the vote there. After democratic discussion, Hull & East Riding Green Party have decided to make a similar arrangement and stand down in Bridlington North. This is done in the spirit of pro-remain parties working together to allow people to vote against Conservative and Brexit parties - and is made on a local level.
Hull & East Riding Green Party is keen to raise its profile in Bridlington, and welcomes new members. The by-election will take place on 11 July 2019.
