Green Party asks, ‘What does Keir Starmer plan for local Devo deal?’

In response to the publication of the consultation results of the Hull and East Riding devolution deal, the local Green Party has written to Labour leader Keir Starmer asking what happens, if as is widely expected, Labour forms the next government.

Local Green Party Deputy Coordinator, Julia Brown, said:

“The Labour Party here in the city opposes the Devo deal between Hull and East Riding so what can we expect an incoming Labour prime minister to do? Will he block the settlement? In which case then what? Renegotiate? Scrap it entirely? Something else?

“We’ve written to Kier Starmer as we need clarity on just what his and the Labour Party’s plans are for devolution to Hull and East Riding.”
