On September 21st, a by-election was held in the Hull ward of Bricknell.  Our candidate, Kevin Paulson, was standing for the third time in Bricknell.  On the two previous occasions he had come third, beating the Lib-Dems.  It was a very hard forght election with Labour and the Lib-Dems throwing all their efforts behind their candidates.  Some residents complained they felt harrassed by the intensity of campaigning.  Despite this, the turn-out fell slightly.  The Lib-Dems, who had not campaigned in Bricknell seriously before, greatly increased their vote share; taking votes from all the other parties.  However, the ward was held by Labour with a decreased margin.  We'd like to hear from our members in Bricknell.  What was your perception of the campaign?  Send comments to kevinscottpaulson@gmail.com.
