The first point to make is that Green Party social aren't particularly lavish!
The rest of Europe enjoys a good deal more in social spending than Britain does now after many years of austerity - for most of us. It's not austerity for the top earners - in fact they've rarely been richer. The Green Party wants to rectify this and make life a bit easier for most people.
But it's true that plans to scrap tuition fees and pay grants, including EMA for younger students, plans to raise pensions, pay for carers, plans to introduce a Basic Income for everyone - don't come cheap. So here are the Green Party plans for raising government funds to cover all our expenditure - and more.
