Welfare cuts will hit Hull hard

27 July 2015

BUDGET: Don’t be deceived. It’s a £28 billion giveaway to big business.

Many families in Hull can expect to lose £1000 a year, from budget cuts to Tax Credits and tax changes.

This is despite the National Living Wage which does make some people better off, by maybe £60 or £80 a year.

But families contacting us are saying they’ll be seriously out of pocket, down £850 even £1000 a year.

One Hull North family, with two children under 5, has told me they will be £1276 a year worse off! Another family calculates they will be £1613 worse off. Per year.

Major attack on working families

A lower income for over 5 years

In the example, a young working family could lose £1300 and still have a lower income by 5 years time!
