Hull March for the Homeless

12 July 2015

Martin Deane: this budget will make many poorer families over £1000 worse off - just as it hides a £28 billion tax breaks for corporations.

Martin Deane, putting forward Green Party criticisms, described how budget effects will increase real poverty across Britain.

The losses by the lowest paid in the country will often amount to hundreds, even over £1000, a year for young families. The worst case to come forward so far is of a young fanily who will be £1613 a year worse off, per year.

Homelessness can be expected to continue to rise across the country, especially amongst the young.

Child poverty - already at a whopping 34% in Hull - can also be expected to rise, as can foodbank use.

A group decides to sit-down in McDonald's in Hull to protest deaths on the streets, and how multinational chains take deliberate steps to avoid feeding the homeless.
