Mental health funding halved since 2013

10 May 2017

The Green Party knows that 1 in 4 will experience a mental health problem each year in the UK, but shockingly none of the other Parties want to talk about it.

Since 2013, mental health funding has been HALVED, waiting times are spiralling, and suicide is on the rise for the first time in years.

This is a crisis. And we’re the only Party taking real action.

This society often feels custom-built to wreck people’s mental health, and it’s a crisis caused by the savage policies of the Tory party – debt piled onto the young, people living only one pay cheque from homelessness, and hundreds of thousands forced into the indignity of using foodbanks.

Greens work to shape a different society to tackle the root causes of mental health.

  • We’ll create a caring and confident country which improves mental health, rather than harms it.
  • We’ll offer parity between mental health and physical health in our NHS, and we’ll ensure that everyone who needs therapy gets support within 28 days of referral.
  • We'll make good on the Conservatives’ failed commitment to give mental health parity with physical health - by ensuring that the two are giving equal funding and investment.

Make no mistake, this will save lives.

We’re the only Party even talking about this, never mind taking action.

Will you stand up for mental health with us?
