Electric Vehicles should go free on Humber Bridge

Kerry Harrison said after the meeting:

Cross Humber cooperation, at all levels, is going to be vital after the Mayoral elections in May.

The role of the bridge is vital in continuing to develop links and whilst we don’t agree with a blanket scrapping of the tolls on all vehicles as proposed by some, we do think drivers of electric vehicles should get some benefit for choosing an eco option. We propose therefore that drivers of electric vehicles should not pay a toll or at least have the cost substantially reduced.”

Sally Horscroft added:

There are great synergies between the two sides of the Humber as the usage of the bridge shows and we vow to work closely together should we be elected on 1 May.

Although there’s not a single administration linking us together you can be sure that the two Green Mayors will meet regularly to discuss what is best for our communities by collaborating together.”
