Thank You

The campaign is over and the votes have been counted. The result was a disappointment although not unexpected given what happened in other parts of the country.

I want to thank all of you who supported my campaign by posting leaflets, doing various important administrative tasks and making a financial donation. We gained many new members, activists and supporters during the campaign the past few weeks. The campaign was a thoroughly enjoyable experience even if the result wasn’t! It was clear during the campaign that people wanted change but sadly many of them were seduced by the negative message from Reform. It’s our job now to show that change can happen and it can be achieved through the Green Party’s positive message and not through the politics of division. So the hard work starts now! 🌱

The first part of that hard work is to identify candidates for next year’s council elections in Hull. Nineteen wards are up for election and as a minimum we want to give everyone in those communities the opportunity to vote Green by having a candidate on the ballot paper. But more than that we want to win some seats on Hull City Council. So we are looking for two types of potential candidate: a) those happy to fly the flag for the Green Party in their community and b) those who want to get elected to Hull City Council. If you are interested, please get in touch at coordinator@hullandeastriding.greenparty.org.uk .
